The used words Tita Mae are originated from a regional language from the island of Seram, Maluku Tengah (Middle Moluccas).
If you translate them freely they stand for "pay up or come across". Tita Mae has been founded in 1997 with the idea that the organisation will participate in the globalisation system, but the local situation in Molucca is taking into consideration too.
Working-field
The Moluccas consist of ample one thousand islands. Attention is to be paid to the necessary and present potential resources. So that the social-economic situation and "human resource" can be developed.
The organisation aims at supporting the poor and underprivileged in the village society to improve the living-standard, taking into account the social-economic and ecological situation.
The foundation strives for welfare promotion of the Moluccan society by creating networks in the formal and non-formal sector (small holdings) and expanding the network of organisations on national as well as international level.
Projects/programs
A few programs of Tita Mae:
the social and environmental program aims at the "basic-needs", like water-supply and sanitation, the development of the adjustment of technics like solar energy and environment, in particular re-afforestation and preservation.
the educational program aims at coaching in the field of economy, environment and small business. Work-shops and seminars are also organised.
