Cry Indonesia is the website for IFC Australia. IFC is an international organisation begun in Indonesia. Founded in 1974, as "Indonesia for Christ", IFC operates as a training organisation for indigenous Indonesian leadership.
Indonesia for Christ changed focus nearly three years ago as a result of the outbreak of attacks on Christians in the Maluku Islands. Considerable energy and focus is now spent addressing the needs of the victims of the conflict, ministering to internally displaced people, and assisting in redevelopment.
A central goal of IFC Australia is to assist Indonesia for Christ by letting the western world hear firsthand accounts of the terror, murder and injustice that Indonesian Christians currently face. IFC Australia seeks to raise the level of concern by encouraging people to pray and to give from their abundance to meet the basic necessities of the Christians who have lost homes and loved ones. IFC Australia seeks to restore the God- given dignity of these saints. The Hearts of Faith music project together with the Cry Indonesia video are two special resources developed for this purpose.
IFC is not opposed to Islamic people. However, we are opposed to extreme Islamism and the cruel way in which militant groups such as Laskar Jihad are carrying out their plans of Islamisation in East Indonesia. The leadership team of IFC Australia believe that Jesus Christ is a God of mercy and hope. He is the God who brings grace and dignity amidst the most disgraceful and undignified situations. IFC Australia believes that Jesus has a special message to refugees because He Himself was one (as a child his parents fled to Egypt for shelter from the angry rage of King Herod). IFC Australia joins with IFC Indonesia, IFC United States, and IFC Singapore/Malaysia to practically demonstrate the love of Christ by meeting both the physical and emotional needs of the Indonesian refugees in their hour of need. Our prayer is for reconciliation and peace upon the great nation of Indonesia; that all people would be able to live in freedom and peace regardless of their race or beliefs.
In Australia, IFC, partners closely with Ruach Ministries, but also links with many other churches and organisations who have a common cause to bless Indonesia.
